Robert was born in Batesville, Arkansas in 1954. He began his undergraduate studies in 1972 at what is now the University of Central Arkansas. His plan was to pursue a degree in accounting. However, two years later, he made the decision to change his career/mission in life and entered the Missionary Baptist Seminary & Institute in Little Rock, Arkansas where he ultimately earned a Master’s degree in Bible Languages. While serving as a missionary-pastor in Falling Waters, West Virginia, he completed his B.A. degree at Shepherd College, Shepherdstown, West Virginia in 1986. He later enrolled in the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and received his J.D. there in 2002. In October of the same year, Robert was admitted to the Arkansas bar.
Since entering the practice of law, Robert has successfully transferred and utilized his experience, education, and communication skills to provide competent legal representation for his clients. He has served both individual and business clients, and has acquired experience in multiple areas of legal practice, including insurance defense, business and commercial litigation, probate, and civil rights. Robert is also certified by the Arkansas Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission as a civil/probate and domestic relations mediator. This designation allows him to perform court-ordered mediations.
Robert and his wife, Peggy, have been married for over 38 years. They have three daughters and five grandchildren. Peggy is an advanced practice nurse working in Fort Smith. In his leisure time, Robert enjoys golf, fishing, and reading.
